The business of moving goods between producers and clients is one of the basic needs for any economy. Munaca Logistics is a wholly controlled subsidiary of Munaca Holdings which was established to take advantage of opportunities in the transport industry.

Munaca Logistics recognises that the logistics industry is one of the most competitive in the country and we have partnered with leading companies to help them manage their fleets efficiently. We have also outsourced some of our logistics contracts to companies that have been involved in the industry for longer than we have to ensure the highest level of specialist service to our clients.

We have an agreement with Palabora Mining Company to transport our export magnetite to Maputo. Munaca Logistics’ partnership with the local Ba Phalaborwa community is crucial to ensuring that the community gets a sustainable income for their local development objectives.

These kinds of partnerships in primary and secondary mining projects are viewed as a key to creating a stable resource-based economy like our economy. The fleet also connects the mineral rich Northern Cape with the ports of Durban and Richards Bay.

Whilst we recognise the limitation of the country’s rail infrastructure we know that using rail is not only the most environmentally friendly option to move bulk mineral resources for exports but that it is also a more affordable channel for clients. As a result we have secured a rail account with access to a number of strategic sidings. The recent plan to expand South Africa’s rail capacity fits well with Munaca Logistics ambition to increasingly rely on the rail network to serve clients.
