Munaca Investments is a wholly owned subsidiary of Munaca Holdings whose main focus is to identify cash-generating business opportunities. This allows the company to recoup the principal sooner and in the process reduce investment risk.

This is done by seeking out opportunities that are scalable and allows us to take advantage of the African continent’s growth opportunities. Munaca Investments is cognisant of the fact that South Africa is in an advantageous position as a gateway to the rest of the continent. To leverage these possibilities to the maximum, we have partnered with a number of strategically selected local and international businesses.

Assisting emerging black businesses

Munaca Investments recognises the importance of growing black businesses and understand the challenges that they face to achieve their growth ambitions. We assist such businesses with financing projects where the businesses have secured contracts but do not have the required finance to follow it through. This is a short term intervention but a critical one that makes a significant contribution towards helping new businesses deliver on their projects and get a foothold in the industry.

Some projects require an extended period of implementation though before the business can generate revenue from a contract. To secure such investments, Munaca Investments partners with the business and assists them throughout the implementation of the project to ensure that it is implemented on time and within budget. When it comes to bigger projects, we will typically form a joint venture that also comprises other experienced industry players that could add value and ensure the success of the project.

Buying into growing businesses

Munaca Investment identifies and buys growing and well run businesses that require a financial injection for their next level of growth. All businesses are evaluated according to a set of pre-determined criteria and their business goals and objectives have to be in synergy with our own.
